The Current Philippine Economy
With the present administration’s strong determination to fight corruption, the economy has stabilized; investors’ confidence, trust and faith in the Philippine government have been restored; plans for the effective implementation of government programs such as education, health, poverty alleviation and job generation are pursued under the platform of good governance.
Sometime in mid 2007, shares of stock went up to a record high, but after a year, it went down again. However, when Noynoy won the presidential elections, the stocks have been steadily going up. This means that business has the trust and confidence in P-Noy.
I sold some of my shares of stock in February 2007 because I needed money for the construction of my daughter’s house. But in mid 2007, the price almost doubled, making me think that I should have held on to them. But I was about to leave for a vacation in North America in February 2007, so the rush in the sale. But no regrets, because I had to accept that is how shares of stock go.
