Quality of Life in the Philippines
In today’s issue of The Philippine Star, the Inbox World question is: How would you describe the quality of life in the Philippines?
Some said life in the Philippines is generally good, saying that with the present administration, the economy is getting better. Others said that life is an everyday struggle. I think those who said that the economy is getting better are those who are rich, or they are simple people with simple wants. They are satisfied because they can eat 3 meals a day, they have a roof under their heads, and simple clothes to wear. But those who are not rich but want the comforts and luxurious things in life would think that the economy is not improving.
Those who say that life is an everyday struggle are those who are poor, who just have enough or not enough to get by in life.
In Psalm 37:25, David said “I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.”
1 Timothy 6:6-8: “But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we have brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.”
