Pacquiao versus Mayweather
Will there ever be a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight? Will it ever happen? Most people want it to happen. They want to see who really is the greatest fighter. Two negotiations were already done for this fight, but both failed. Mayweather wanted an Olympic style random blood testing but Pacquiao refused to do it. Pacquiao’s camp says that Mayweather does not really want the fight to happen and his demand for the Olympic style random blood testing is just his way out of the fight. The real reason is he is afraid to face Pacquiao, whose famous speed and power has defeated every one he fought since 2005.
Mike Tyson says the one fight that he wants to see is the superfight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. as reported in today’s Philippine Star. And if that happens, Mayweather will have the upperhand, he says.
He based his opinion on the fight of Marquez with Pacquiao in 2004 and 2008, and Marquez’ fight with Mayweather in 2009. In 2004, Pacquiao and Marquez figured in a very tight contest that ended in a controversial draw. Then in 2009, to quote Tyson, “Pacquiao went life and death” in a second encounter with the Mexican in 2008. On the other hand, Mayweather dominated Marquez in their 2009 fight.
It is really worthwhile to make the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight happen. This way, people will know who really is the better boxer.
Everybody is waiting for this fight to happen. It was written a few weeks ago that boxing promoters Bob Arum & Don King were to promote the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight, that they will make it happen. It was said that only Don King can tell Mayweather to do the fight. But Bob Arum issued a disclaimer that it is all talk and that Don King never talked to him about it. Walk the talk guys, make it happen & don't keep boxing fans waiting in suspense. (comment from Linda Cerna)
