My friend, Charito

More than two years ago, I was able to see my friend and former officemate Chat when she came to visit me and my husband in Houston, Texas.  It was my first time to see her since she left the Philippines for North America in 2001.  Not having seen her for more than seven years, I really looked forward to meeting up with her.  From Maryland, she flew to Houston, Texas, and as had been her practice when travelling, she brought with her a garmin nuvi gps, just to be sure that she would reach her destination without any problem of getting lost.  From the airport, she went to rent a car then  drove straight to Embassy Suites for booking, and then came to fetch me and my husband.  It was an exciting experience.  We went to a fine dining restaurant for dinner, then spent the night at Embassy Suites.  We spent the time updating each other on how we had been since we last saw each other.   I have only good words for her because  among my friends and  former officemates, she is the only one who is the most ambitious, and had the strong  determination and guts to do every possible way to attain her goals in life.
