Memories of my second visit to the U.S.A. - Part 1
It has been over a year since my husband and I traveled to the U.S. It was the first time for my husband, while it was my second time. We had stopovers at Nagoya, Japan and Detroit, Michigan before we reached Houston, Texas which was our final destination. My siblings Danny and Pet met us at the airport.
The following day, we attended a Mexican birthday party. It was the birthday of Silvia Rivera, mother of Norma Henderson, Pet’s friend. It was an enjoyable afternoon, with the party highlighted by the singing of the Mariachi, a Mexican singing group.
After church the following Sunday, Linda Sangel brought us to Mabonificus, a Mexican restaurant which serves Mexican sea foods and Chinese fried rice. Then we proceeded to visit Philip and Eydene Sangel in Richmond, Texas, a place which is 45 minutes from Houston.
The following Monday (July 14), Pet drove 230 miles (4-hour drive) to bring Christian back to his foster home parents at Brumette Youth Ranch in Hico. We got off the car every time we saw something worth viewing and took some pictures.
Danny and Marlene took us to Dallas to pick up Joanne from her school “Christ for the Nations Institute” and brought her home for summer vacation. On the way to Dallas, we visited the Sam Houston Museum at Huntsville. We also had a picture taken with the Temple Baptist Church in Dallas as background. The picture below was taken at Popoy Sangel's home.
