Our visit to Vancouver in 2008 - Part 2

The exhibits at Vancouver Museum at Vanier Park feature the unnatural history of Stanley Park. It is one of the biggest parks in North America. Originally intended as a fortress against the U.S. invasion, it now sits as a park where people can relax, enjoy the scenery and the beach. It is surrounded by restaurants, seawall where people jog, bike and picnic in summer and almost all year round.

Later, we just strolled around, we were amused in seeing a group of men in masks; we thought they were thus dressed for the coming Halloween. Then we stopped by a bakery where we saw a man mixing chocolate in a huge pan while it was being cooked.

This is Collingwood Baptist Church where we attended worship services. It was just a 10-minute walk from Angie’s/Ding’s place. After lunch, Angie and Ding took us to Stanley Park.

We were excited to have our picture taken under a weeping willow tree.

We went to Vancouver Museum where we viewed various kinds of creatures like fish, whales, alligators, bats, snakes, a very tiny monkey, parakeets, etc. The dolphin show was a delight.

Above is the Top of Vancouver Revolving Restaurant. It was Salve who treated us here. The aerial view was magnificent. Here, we could see all of Vancouver.

Our 2-week visit ended on October 31, 2008. Our heartfelt thanks to my sister in law Angie and her friend Ding for this wonderful experience!
