Our visit to Vancouver in 2008 - Part 1

Bayani and I left Houston, Texas at 8 am, October 18, 2008 via Southwest Airlines, which made a stopover at Denver, then arrived at Seattle, Tacoma, Washington at 11:30 am (1:30 pm, Texas time). It was a 5-hour flying time. Bayani’s sister Angie and her friend Ding met us at SeaTac airport.

This is Whistler Village, site of the 2010 Winter Olympics. It was a 110 km drive from Vancouver. On the way to Whistler Village, we stopped at Shannon Falls.

The pictures below were taken at Queen Elizabeth Park, a very lovely place full of beautiful trees and flowers and a magnificent water fountain.

We rode the Sea Bus in going to Lonsdale Quay, stopped by the Gas Town Steam Clock, Pan Pacific Hotel and Canada Place, and the Vancouver Convention Centre.

We boarded the ferry “Spirit of Vancouver Island” in going to Victoria, the capital of British Columbia. On the way back to Vancouver, we boarded another ferry, “Spirit of British Columbia".

Angie hosted a welcome and a get together party with my cousin Bobby de Jesus, who brought with him his wife Gemma and their eldest child, Liezl. Ding’s sister Salve was there who brought a yummy black forest cake.
