Lord, I Come To You

 

Dear God and my heavenly Father, I humbly come to you, knowing that I am not worthy to be called your child, because you are so awesome, you are so powerful, all-knowing, merciful, and forgiving while I am self-centered, and sometimes insensitive toward other people.  Thank you Lord, because you love me so much that you gave your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ to die on the cross to pay for the penalty of my sins.  Thank you because you are my Creator, my God, my Provider, my Protector, my Comforter, my Counselor,   my Helper.  Thank you for your Word that gives me guidance and encouragement, that speaks to me in times when I am perplexed, troubled or anxious.

Forgive me, oh God, because many times I do things that don’t please you.  Thank you because you are always forgiving and merciful.  Lord, help me oh God, to be the kind of person you have purposed for me to be.  Banish my fears and anxieties, and help me to replace them with confidence and trust in your faithfulness and love.  Help me oh God, not to be hesitant in  sharing  your Word to other people.  Give me the burden for souls.  Oh, God, in my twilight years, help me to be gracious.  And when you decide that it is time for me to leave this world, I pray that my loved ones will be ready for it.  Bless them oh God, and may their lives be a sweet aroma to you.
