My Eldest Daughter - Part 2
One instance that showed that Jennifer was feisty and at the same time witty was during her elementary days when her younger sister was bullied by her classmate. She confronted the bully, but the bully's older sister came, and Jennifer saw that the sister was much bigger than her, so despondently and so frustrated, Jennifer just backed out.
Another instance was when someone sent me a nasty email last year. I wrote her back, and explained myself in writing. But that letter of mine was useless, because that person was already opinionated and would not listen to reason. In fact, in her succeeding emails, she labeled me as “talkative” and “greedy”. Most members of my family told me just to ignore that person who labeled me wrongfully, and not to answer her email anymore. They said that person had so many painful experience in life, that’s why she was overly sensitive and self-centered, to the point of not being able to understand me. But Jennifer had a different reaction. She told me to go ahead and refute that wrongful accusation, and not let that person get the idea that she is right in her opinion of me.
I was really very hurt and so, being what I am, I just kept silent, I did not answer her anymore – what’s the use? As before, I knew she would not listen. I was very much hurt, being affected so much. For over a year, I stopped writing altogether. (Writing is my way of expressing my thoughts and feelings, since I am not good in talking.)
But Jennifer convinced me to write again. So here I am, writing again.
Now, back to Jennifer. Jennifer has been a very good student right from the time when she started schooling. She had consistently received commendations from her teachers in spite of the absence of supervision at home for her school assignments. She finished 2 courses – Bachelor of Science in Commerce, major in Business Administration at UST, and just 3 years ago, she finished her teaching course, and is now a Licensed Professional Teacher.
Jennifer is a fast worker. Nine years ago when she was still working in a bank, whenever there was a task that needed to be done and completed in a very short time, her supervisor would give it to her. Her co-employees would always call her "Speedy Jennie".
Being aggressive, Jennifer had ventured into various kinds of business ventures. She even worked as an event organizer and got involved with event designers. Aside from being a Pastor's wife and a mother, Jennifer is a work-from-home mom, without a helper to help her out with house chores, and is also homeschooling a very sociable, very active and very smart 7-year old son. And she is doing an excellent job at that – quite a multi-tasker!
That is my eldest daughter, Jennifer.
