De Jesus Family Reunion

As far as I can recall, the De Jesus Family started their yearly family reunion in the 1990’s. In the year 2000, it was the turn of the Moises de Jesus family to host the 8th annual reunion.

Being the eldest child of my parents, I was tasked to lead and organize the affair. I was a bit jittery then, not having the experience to be a leader of anything in the past. I had to coordinate with the other members of the committee about food, venue, streamer, decorations, the De Jesus family tree, the program and the emcees.

I also had to scout around and hire the services of a photographer and a videographer to document the affair with pictures and video. I also had to provide the sound system, including the Energy speakers. In addition, I also had to send letters to my cousins to remind them and update them about the progress of the preparations of the affair.

It was tiring, but a refreshing remark that I received after the affair was when a cousin told me that this was the most successful De Jesus Family reunion because it was well organized and one that had the largest attendance. I thank those who have been very helpful in making the affair a successful one, especially my cousins whom I will not name anymore because I know they know who they are. Thank you very much!
