Jennifer

Jennifer is my eldest child.  When she was still a toddler, I could already see a stubborn streak in her.  I remember decades ago, when she was about 2 years old, I was so sick and depressed and felt so sentimental.  Thinking that I won’t be staying long, I wrote her a letter, intending it to be read by her when she was already grown up and I am not around anymore.  In that letter, I pointed out her stubborn streak.  I told her that being stubborn is not bad, as long as she is stubbornly right.  I told her to acknowledge God in her life.  I told her to be obedient to her father, reminding her that a good child is a blessing to her parents.

Jennifer is a very intelligent girl.  Right from the start of schooling, she has received honors, this despite of the absence of supervision at home.  I was never a hands-on mom.  I worked in several companies from the day I graduated from college until I was compelled to stop working due to compulsory retirement.  I leave very early in the morning and arrive late at night.  I never checked on how my two children were faring in school.  It’s good they did not go astray.  Jennifer finished two college courses, and is now a mother herself.  And she is doing an excellent job at that (being a mother), not to mention the fact that she also has lots of tasks to do such as a work from home mom, homeschooling a 5-year old  active son, and all that without a helper.  She is quite a multi-tasker.

Happy birthday, Jen, I know I have not been a mother that many children would want to have, but be assured that your best interest is in my heart.
